About NeuroThrive Therapy

Our ethos
NeuroThrive Therapy was founded on the deep belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to connect, communicate, and thrive – not just survive.

Throughout my 18 years as a Speech and Language Therapist, working across various NHS services and alongside many incredible individuals and families, I’ve seen firsthand how vital communication is to identity, wellbeing, and belonging. I’ve also seen the reality, that despite the best efforts of NHS teams, services are often stretched, waiting lists are long, and too many people are left without the timely, personalised support they need.

Without meaningful ways to express themselves or engage with others, so many neurodivergent people, and those with learning disabilities or mental health challenges, find themselves isolated, misunderstood, or even in crisis. Communication is not just about speech; it’s about connection, community, and human dignity.

NeuroThrive Therapy was created to bridge that gap; offering specialist, neurodiversity-affirming Speech and Language Therapy, dysphagia support, supervision, consultancy, and post-diagnostic services tailored to each individual. I am passionate about helping people understand their own communication profiles, build their strengths, and find connection in whatever way feels right for them.

What is Neurodiversity-affirming Speech and Language Therapy?

Neurodiversity-affirming practice recognises that there’s no single “right” way for a brain to think, communicate, or connect. Everyone has their own strengths, preferences, and needs and support should build on those, not work against them.

As a neurodiversity-affirming Speech and Language Therapist, I focus on understanding and supporting each person’s unique communication profile rather than teaching them to mask or appear more “typical.”

This approach promotes:

Self-acceptance – helping people feel safe, understood, and valued for who they are.

Authentic communication – building confidence to express thoughts, needs, and boundaries in ways that work for them.

Reduced stress and burnout – removing pressure to perform or “get it right” in social settings.

Better connections – supporting families, carers, and professionals to adapt their own communication for true two-way understanding.

Neurodiversity-affirming therapy is guided by the lived experiences of neurodivergent people, evidence-based frameworks, and a belief that communication thrives when environments, not individuals, adapt.
